Biodiversity Hotspots: Marshes are among the mos
[Nasiriyah, 22-2-2024] – The Water Friends community is thrilled to announce the launch of a dynamic youth volunteer campaign aimed at delving into the rich history of the marshes and sharing their discoveries with the broader community. As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental education and stewardship, the Water Friends team is mobilizing young volunteers to embark on an exciting journey of exploration and learning.
The campaign, titled “Marsh Memories: Exploring Our Ecological Heritage,” seeks to engage youth in uncovering the fascinating history and ecological significance of the marshlands in our region. By immersing themselves in hands-on research, guided field trips, and interactive workshops, participating volunteers will gain a deeper understanding of the marshes’ evolution, cultural heritage, and environmental importance.
“We believe that understanding the history of our marshlands is essential for fostering a sense of connection and appreciation for these valuable ecosystems,” says Hiader alJanubi, youth engagement coordinator at Water Friends. “Through this campaign, we hope to empower young volunteers to become advocates for marsh conservation and inspire them to share their newfound knowledge with their peers and the wider community.”
